Dr. Dimitris Alimisis is the scientific leader of EDUMOTIVA after his resignation in 2013 from a full-professorship position at the Higher School of Pedagogical & Technological Education (Patras, Greece), a position he held since 1997. At the Higher School of Pedagogical & Technological Education he established the Laboratory of Educational Technology and served as its scientific leader until 2013.
Dimitris has been involved in teaching and research in the field of education mostly at the level of teacher education during the last 17 years including teacher training in the constructivist use of ICT and in innovative practices concerning pedagogic use of ICT in Science and Technology Education. He has a long experience in training student-teachers in educational technology and in pedagogical applications of ICT, especially in the areas of science and technology.
Dimitris’ expertise includes the use of educational software (such as concept mapping tools, modelling tools, exploratory and interactive simulations, Logo-like environments), educational robotics, web-based synchronous and asynchronous distance training.
